Several popular games use Plura already to generate incremental revenue. Check out some of these games here.
Handdrawngames - Desktop Tower Defense
For those that have never played Desktop Tower Defense - be aware. This game is quite possibly the most addictive Flash game ever. Several members of Plura's management team (won't name names here) have spent several hours playing this game.
Handdrawngames was one of the first games to use Plura. Paul Preece, the owner, immediately jumped at the idea of having a new revenue stream that didn't compete with ads. According to Paul, it was basically free money.
webDiplomacy
webDiplomacy is a Risk-style game where players compete against each other to control Europe. It's coded in PHP, which makes it pretty interesting. Some of our staff are still trying to get the hang of it, but we haven't been able to conquer Europe yet!
You can see what actual players of this game think about Plura by viewing this forum thread. The vast majority of his users are all for using Plura to help support the game, especially since Plura can be opted-out of with some simple user setting functionality.
Another interesting tidbit is that Plura can also run on the Facebook version of the game without any problems.
The Casual Collective
This popular game site brings in elements of social networking to turn online gameplay into a more engaging activity. Players can engaged in cooperative or competitive gameplay. We probably enjoy Minions the most.
Plura provides this online game portal with a steady supply of additional revenue on top of traditional ad-based revenue. Hopefully this means we get to see more games like Minions in the near future!
